This project is currently in development as a live cinematic performance and AR experience based in Frederick, MD and surrounding cities and towns. My inspiration comes from Lauren Silberman's excellent book "Wild Women of Maryland". The project aims to re-create the feelings, textures, sights and sounds of bold women from our collective Maryland history, specifically the lives of Margaret Brent, Sarah Wilson, Euphemia Goldsborough, Anna Ella Carroll, Marguerite Harrison, Betty Lusier, Lillie Carroll Jackson and Juanita Jackson Mitchell, Sadie Kneller and Violet Hill Whyte.
The stories are told through animated artifacts of daily life, archival images and storytelling in collaboration with live actors from the Endangered Species Theater Project .
The Living History Project is made possible by the generous support of the Maryland State Arts Council and the NEA's CAN Recovery Fund distributed by the Frederick Arts Council.
